The Annfield Plain Family History Society was formed in 2001 by a group of five individuals. After the society was featured in an article in the North Easterner magazine the number of members quadrupled. Now we have almost fifty members, not just from County Durham but from all around the world. The main interest of the members is to expand their knowledge of their ancestors and to support others with the same interests.
As well as our monthly meetings we also hold drop-in help sessions in four libraries throughout Derwentside.
The Annfield Plain Family History Society is based in Annfield Plain Library and meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 2pm
